The Arts
Dance
Students develop the ability to perform and to organize dance ideas and movement creatively. They also develop an understanding of dance as an essential component of history and cultural human experience. Students learn dance technique in ballet, modern, jazz, tap and ethnic dances, dance terminology and the elements of production.
Music
Students develop a knowledge of music and an ability to perform music through
guided exploration of the basic elements of music. All grade levels matriculate
through our Yamaha Music Program, Kids Encounter to learn keyboard skills.
Our students learn vocal/choral singing, music theory, history, culture and
various musical instrumentation. Walton Academy is 1 of 4 Yamaha Music
Schools in the State of Florida.
Theatre
Students develop self-expression, individual creativity and cultural awareness through concepts of theatre arts. Students learn character development, role
playing, expression, emotions, stage presence and movement through the school's musical theatre presentations.
